May the Projects Be With You
In May, we’re pleased to have welcomed Neil Watton back to Summit Systems after five years away from the business. Having originally joined Summit in 2018 as Technical Manager before returning to the Aerospace industry, Neil now rejoins the team in a Project Management role within the Process Cooling division.
Q: Welcome back to Summit! How does it feel to be back?
A: It feels great to be back. Summit has always had a strong engineering culture and a great team behind it, so returning was an easy decision. A lot has developed since I was last here, especially within the Process Cooling division, and I’m looking forward to being part of that continued growth.
Q: For those who may not know you, can you tell us a little about your background?
A: I originally joined Summit in 2018 as Technical Manager, supporting technical development and customer projects across the business. After leaving Summit, I returned to the Aerospace sector, where I further developed my experience in engineering, project coordination and structured delivery within a highly demanding industry.
Q: What attracted you back to Summit Systems?
A: The opportunity to work within the Process Cooling division and help strengthen the Projects function was a big factor. Summit has built a strong reputation in process cooling, and it’s exciting to come back into a business that continues to invest in technical capability, project delivery and customer support.
Q: What will your role involve?
A: My role will focus on project management within the Process Cooling division, helping bring structure, organisation and technical support across projects from initial planning through to installation and completion. The aim is to ensure projects run efficiently, communication stays clear, and customers receive the highest level of support throughout the process.
Q: How do you think your Aerospace experience will benefit the role?
A: Aerospace is very detail-focused and process-driven, with a strong emphasis on planning, quality and consistency. Bringing some of that structured approach into project management can really help support smooth project delivery and maintain high technical standards.
Q: What are you most looking forward to?
A: Working closely with the team again and getting involved in a wide variety of cooling projects. Every application is different, which keeps things interesting, and I’m looking forward to helping develop the Projects function further as the division continues to grow.
Q: Finally, what would you like to say to customers and colleagues as you return?
A: I’m really pleased to be back and excited to get started. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new customers and supporting the continued success of the Process Cooling division.
