Advanced Plastics operates a highly automated manufacturing facility with sites in Hull, Fareham, and Manchester, offering a wide range of capabilities and holding IATF 16949, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001 certifications.
Summit Systems a market-leading provider of plastics ancillary equipment since 1989, has announced the successful supply and installation of a new central material feed system at Advanced Plastics Group.
New Central Feed System for Advanced Plastics
The new system has been designed to support Advanced Plastics (NE) full range of injection moulding machines and is capable of feeding up to 45 machines simultaneously. This provides a consistent and uninterrupted material supply across the production floor and supports the company’s focus on operational excellence and capital investment.
The installation features a decentralised layout, helping to reduce congestion around individual moulding machines while consolidating the overall material management footprint for improved efficiency. It also includes a flexible 10 material configuration, allowing Advanced Plastics (NE) to process a diverse range of polymers, including high-abrasion materials, with precision and reliability.
Drying capacity ranges from 150 to 600 litres and uses the latest vacuum drying technology to ensure material is in optimal condition before processing. This helps reduce the risk of defects and supports improved part quality. The system also incorporates coded connection tables, adding another level of process control by eliminating the risk of incorrect material-to-machine connections and supporting quality and traceability throughout production.
The installation at Advanced Plastics (NE) will help improve efficiency, reduce manual handling, and support better process control across a wide range of polymers.
