Navigate the Plastic Packaging Tax with confidence. With the products in our portfolio and our expertise, we can provide multiple options to help you exceed the 30% recycled content threshold – whether thats through in-house recycling machinery or our recycled polymer compounds.
From 1 April 2024, the rate of the Plastic Packaging Tax further increased to
£217.85
per tonne (from £210.82 in 2023). For over 35 years Summit Systems has been supplying and installing plastic ancillaries and recycling machinery. We are passionate about ensuring that our customers have the most cost-efficient and advanced technology which ensures their plastics processes run smoothly and without fault. And since the introduction of the Plastic Packaging Tax, we are even more driven to help our customers adapt to the changes of meeting or exceeding the 30% recycled material threshold. Summit Systems works with the UK Plastic Industry to assist businesses in navigating the tax while maximising the use of recycled material in their production processes. We offer a broad selection of granulators and dosing units from four leading global suppliers: Maguire, Movacolor, Tria, and Zerma, specifically designed to enhance the percentage of recycled material in your plastic production processes. And to further support this, we can source and provide a range of recycled polymer compounds which can contribute to the 30% required recycled content set out by the legislation
Recycled Polymer Compounds
Our expertise extends beyond recycling to encompass the entire lifecycle of plastic materials. By sourcing polymer compounds from trusted suppliers, we champion the reduction of environmental impact and promote the responsible use of plastics. Summit Recycling provides full traceability from “cradle to cradle” and offer recycled content reports for each grade. Our diverse polymer offerings, including filled, modified, and 100% recycled polymers compounds, give businesses a wide range of options to meet their specific needs

From Ocean to Opportunity – Ocean Integrity have created a global waste management system, paying indigenous fishermen to collect and sort plastic pollution before it enters the ocean. This plastic is processed in the UK and recycled into high-quality material.
RECOTHENE™ Ocean rPE, a premium recycled polymer made from recovered Low Density Polyethylene, is a result of this effort. Manufactured by
Chase Plastics in an EUCertPlast accredited facility, RECOTHENE Ocean rPE meets strict quality standards. Available through Summit Recycling, it aids in mitigating the Plastic Packaging Tax and contributes to meeting the 30% recycled content requirement

By sourcing polymer compounds from trusted suppliers, we champion the reduction of environmental impact and promote the responsible use of plastics. Through our commitment to transparency, we provide full traceability and offer recycled content reports for each grade of polymer. Our diverse polymer offerings encompass filled, modified, and 100% recycled compounds, allowing businesses to select materials that align with their sustainability goals. By incorporating these recycled compounds into your packaging materials, you can increase overall recycled content, meeting the requirements set by the Plastic Packaging Tax
