Under the GB F-Gas Regulation, the volume of higher-GWP refrigerant that can be placed on the market falls year on year, with the phase-down set to cut F-gas emissions by roughly two-thirds by 2030. Refrigerants such as R410A are increasingly restricted, which over time means higher prices and tighter availability for systems that depend on them. The government has signalled its intention to tighten the schedule further beyond 2027, so the long-term direction is clear, even where the specific next steps are still being finalised.
Most of our air cooled chillers are available with lower-GWP refrigerants, including R454B, R32 and natural refrigerant R290, giving you a compliant, future-ready specification from day one. Choosing a lower-GWP system now reduces exposure to refrigerant supply risk and avoids costly retrofits later in the asset’s life.
Free cooling models go a step further. By using ambient air to meet part or all of the cooling load when outdoor temperatures allow, integrated free-cooling chillers cut compressor running hours, lower energy use and reduce reliance on refrigerant performance, a practical hedge against both rising energy costs and tightening refrigerant rules. Removes process heat using ambient air. Water absorbs heat, chiller transfers it to refrigerant, condenser fans release it. No cooling tower needed.
Air cooled rejects heat to air (no cooling tower). Water cooled uses a water circuit and tower. Air cooled = simpler install, lower maintenance.

Scroll suits up to ~500–600 kW (quieter, lower cost). Screw for higher capacities with better efficiency at sustained high loads.
