Preventative Maintenance

Choosing Summit Systems for your preventative maintenance visits offers numerous benefits, including reduced downtime through early issue detection, extended equipment lifespan, and increased efficiency, leading to better productivity and lower energy consumption.

What?

Our Plastics Automation Preventative Maintenance Visits are comprehensive, scheduled services tailored to keep your plastics production equipment operating at peak performance. We inspect, calibrate, clean, lubricate, and proactively replace worn parts across a range of systems, including dryers, blenders, loaders, conveying lines, and integrated controls. Each visit is structured to maintain the reliability and efficiency of your machinery, reduce waste, and avoid unexpected stoppages.

Why?

In high-output plastics manufacturing environments, even minor equipment failures can result in costly downtime, material loss, and missed deadlines. Regular preventative maintenance is vital to extend the lifespan of your machinery, protect your investment, and ensure continuous, high-quality production. It also helps optimise energy efficiency, reduce the risk of breakdowns, and supports compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

How?

Our engineering team will agree a visit schedule with you—typically twice per year, or more frequently based on usage or system complexity. During each visit, we carry out a full diagnostic and mechanical review of your equipment, make adjustments, replace key components if required, and provide you with a detailed maintenance report. This includes a breakdown of actions taken, parts replaced, and any recommendations to improve system reliability or performance.

Who and Where?

The service is delivered by our in-house plastics automation specialists, each fully trained in Summit equipment and experienced in supporting a wide variety of factory setups. We serve customers throughout the UK and Ireland—from small, independent manufacturers to major production facilities—providing flexible, site-specific support regardless of your location or production scale.

What Our Customers Are Saying About Their Experience

“The maintenance service visits are obviously working extremely well as we have had the least amount of follow up work carried out this year against the last 5 prior years.”

Richard Dean, Maintenance Supervisor, IAC Group

“We look after our equipment well and have contracted twice yearly service visits from Summit engineers, which has proven without a doubt to be a money-well-spent insurance policy.”

Operations Director, Flexfilm
