Summit Systems recently welcomed three new Business Development Managers to fuel our growth. Among them is Wayne Kirby, whose 20-year career in Sales and Business Development across diverse industries will be instrumental in supporting the success of our new Material Handling division, Summit Dynamic Solutions, along with customers within the plastics industry.
1. Can you tell us about your professional background and what attracted you to Summit Systems?
Wayne’s career began in manufacturing, eventually leading him into automation technical sales and business development. Over the years, he has provided technical solutions to a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, aggregates, chemical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, and general manufacturing. His broad experience equips him to address complex challenges and deliver tailored solutions, making him a perfect fit for Summit Systems.
2. What do you see as your key strengths, and how do you plan to apply them in your new role?
Wayne excels at building strong relationships with customers and forging partnerships that drive mutual growth. His deep understanding of business needs enables him to tailor solutions that meet specific requirements, fostering long-term customer satisfaction. Wayne thrives on project work, guiding initiatives from initial concept to completion, and has successfully overseen projects valued at over £2 million. In his new role at Summit Systems, he will leverage these strengths to enhance customer engagement and assist in driving the growth of Summit Dynamic Solutions.
3. What excites you most about Summit Dynamic Solutions, and how do you see yourself contributing to this new division?
The potential and broad scope of projects within this new Material Handling division attracted Wayne to the role and the company. With Summit’s strong reputation and expertise in the plastics industry, Wayne sees a tremendous opportunity to expand into new sectors. His extensive experience in technical sales and business development across various industries aligns perfectly with Summit Systems’ objectives, and Wayne is eager to contribute to the company’s growth and success.
4. What are some of your personal interests or hobbies that help you unwind outside of work?
Outside of work, Wayne enjoys spending time with his German Pointer, Milo, and values quality time with his son, including coaching his grassroots football team. He also has a passion for angling, swimming, and taking short coastal breaks. Socialising with friends and family is another way he relaxes and recharges.
