Conveyors and robots are often integrated so that the conveyor belt moves in an intermittent or indexed manner. A signal from the robot is sent to a control panel mounted on the conveyor when the robot is about to pick part from the tool in the machine. When the panel receives the signal, it will then send another signal to the conveyor to move the belt forward sufficient to allow the part the robot has removed to be placed on the belt.
